OOF2ORF Conversion Utility v1.0.2 BETA
Copyright (c) 2000-2001 Virtual-Creations

--------------------
Introduction:
--------------------

The OOF2ORF Conversion Utility is designed to make converting OOF's(Outrage Object Format)
to ORF's(Outrage Room Format) quick and easy while preserving all Sub-Objects, Textures,
UV Mappings, everything as it was in the OOF. Some of the features include-

* Import OOF files and Display the Model information
* Import P3D files and send them to POFGEN, after completion, showing OOF model information.
* Export ORF files. Converts all Sub-models, textures, UV mapping to ORF.

------------------------
Menus/Options:
------------------------

OOF2ORF should be fairly straight forward in its usage however I have briefly described the
included options and menus.

File/Import P3D:	Load a P3D from the disk and send it to POFGEN for processing using all
command line options set in the Edit/Options Window.

File/Import OOF:	Load an OOF from the disk and display the Model information.

File/Export ORF:	Export the Model out as an ORF using the options set in the Edit/Options
		Window.

Edit/Options:	Display the POFGEN Command Line & OOF2ORF Conversion Options window.
All command line switches that POFGEN uses are included. A brief description
of each option if I have an idea of what it does is included.
		* If you have more information about a particular option, please let me know
so I can update the readme.

Edit/Window Font/Colors:
Change the Font, color of the Display window

Edit/Clear Window:	Clears the Display Window

Reload P3D:	Reload the P3D file from disk and send it to Pofgen for Analysis

----------------------------
POFGEN Options:
----------------------------

Scale Factor:	Scales the OOF by the amount shown. 1.0 would be the same size.
Error Tolerance:	Haven't used this much but I believe its the tolerance used when checking
verts and faces for combining, and/or removal.
Shading Mode:	I believe this will apply a brightness to each vertex in the model based on the
		lighting, or the normals.
Chunk Splits:	Splits your model into chunks. This sometimes will cause POFGEN to choke,
which will make it look like the P3D was converted properly. Look at the
command line that was sent to POFGEN in your main window and look for
an -nX,Y,Z where X,Y,Z were the numbers used.
If you don't see it, then POFGEN exited with an error.
Sub-Object Seperation Planes (debug):
Probably used for BSP trees and such. I have no idea how you would use
		this feature.
Use First Seperation Plane (debug):
		See above note.
Use Local Seperation Planes:
		See above note.
Conflict/Split Ratio:	Don't have a clue.
Combine Objects:	This forces POFGEN to combine all Sub-Objects into 1.
Animation Output:	Not sure what this does, as I have animated objects without this checked.
Capital Ships:	No clue.
POFGEN.EXE Path:	The path to POFGEN. This is needed before you can do any Import P3D
		functions.

-------------------------------------------------
OOF2ORF Conversion Options:
-------------------------------------------------

OOF2ORF Conversion Settings:
This allows you to specify whether each Sub-Object should be saved as a
Seperate Room, or if all Sub-Objects should be combined into a single room.

Notes:
------------

A few notes about what types of problems you may experience while using this program-

If you recieve errors on start up like file not found or other weird error messages, find the file
named OOF2ORF.ini and delete it. This is where all the configuration settings are stored. If
this file becomes corrupt, it would most likely be the culprit.

Sometimes POFGEN will not convert a file rather just have an Error message. As POFGEN is
a DOS program, I wasn't able to read the output to see if this happened. Make sure you look
at the PINF section of the Display. Look closely at the Command Line that appeared to be used...
and check to see if it matches the settings you entered in the POFGEN Command Line Options.

Here is a rundown of the Command Line Switches that are sent to POFGEN for the various
Command Line Options-

-sX.XXXXXX	- Scale Factor=X.XXXXXXX
-eX.XXXXXX	- Error Tolerance=X.XXXXXXX
-d1 - Shading Mode-Shaded by Normals
-d2 - Shading Mode-Shaded by Lightsource
-nX,Y,Z - Chunk Splits=X,Y,Z amounts
-p - Sub-Object Seperation Planes
-f - Use First Seperation Plane
-m - Conflict/Split Ratio
-g - Use Local Seperation Planes
-1 - Combine Objects
-a - Animation Output
-b - Capital Ships
