Orig. Release Date: December 19th, 2003
1.1 Release Date: March 8th, 2004
Version: 1.1

-------
SUMMARY
-------
Long since decommissioned and written off as derelict,
Post-Terran's former orbital research laboratory Zion
Station has found new life as a battle arena for
mercenary pilots. Those who stop to admire the view of
Earth will be sorely mistaken when their ships are
reduced to scald marks on the metallic hull of the
space station.

VERSION 1.1
-----------
Version 1.1 was released to address a playability
issue where opposing ships would become unseen. It
was supposedly linked to the size of the two Earth
faces beneath Zion Station. I have resized these
and retextured the borders to improve their aesthetics.
Also fixed several typos to this txt file.

MORE INFORMATION
----------------
The third in the series of calmly-named levels (Halcyon
and Elysium its forebearers), Zion had sat on the back
burner for months and could well be the result of the
single longest development time I've had for one level.
Of course, not all of that time was spent working on it.
Rather, it was patched together amidst a busy college
schedule and then put aside when things really started
to get tough.

Zion sports a symmetrical layout, and its claim to fame
is really its scenary. Similar to what Outrage did in
Level 14, you can see a view of Earth outside the windows.
It also have some detailed architecture.

I reluctantly say this may also be my final level for
Descent 3. Driven to the dark side by Unreal Tournament,
I no longer possess the same interest in Descent as I
had before (Zion's long development schedule is testament
to this fact). The community is shrinking and the game
has virtually no forseeable future, in my humble opinion.
True enough, I leave the door open that I might do more
levels, but for the past several months my interest and
heart is just not in Descent anymore.

It's been a great run, however, and though I never really
enjoyed Descent 3 development as much as that for Descent 2,
I still think it is a worthy game to edit for and it's
shameful that we'll probably never see a Descent 4.
