IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII I I ------------------------------|--=== After Damp ===-|------------------------------------------- | | IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII by Psyllo & MORG Created 2/9/97 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Best Played with Descent ][ version 1.2 -note: textures may be inconsistant with v1.0 or 1.1 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ----Definition----- After Damp: an asphyxiating gas left in a mine after an explosion. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII --> This level set was created with the intension of making a fun set with very playable levels. This is the next generation level set coming to you from the creative talents of MORG and Psyllo. This is the most playable and best new level set since The Elegies (and has better framerate throughout). You will need Descent v1.2 to see the few custom textures and you will need v1.2 Vertigo to play Hoard mode in multiplayer games. ------Editors: -MORG: A 'Devil' master. MORG primarily used several versions of 'Devil', and on the side, for texturing etc. he uses 'DMB2'. -Psyllo: 'DMB2' all the way. He has been using 'DMB' since the first edition for Descent 1. -Level breakdown: These levels aren't complicated messes of tunnels, nor are they too basic. They were specially picked for their multi-player *playability* out of many other levels. Keyword = playability. If you want a framerate killer with major detail, your not going to find that. These are well rounded, good looking levels. Even though these levels were designed for 3-5 players, you aren't going to miss each other playing 1 on 1 either. In fact, a couple of them were designed with 1 on 1 play in mind. Sorry, no shakers or megas here. Each level takes very little time to familiarize with, and you shouldn't have to worry about getting lost for hours, never knowing why that punk keeps thwapping your behind. 1-Moxie: Created by Psyllo '96. This level is an all out brawl. It's packed with tons of weaponry aside from megas, shakers, helix, phoenix, smart mines or proximity bombs. You won't often be killed with anything less than plasma and burners, put it that way. Hint: the reactor is in the roof of the fuel station. 2-Hoover: Created by MORG '96. This level is a great level, it contains all primary weaponry, If you aren't a good pilot, you might not perform very well in this level. Some great corner fighting in this one. Good visuals, GREAT Framerate. Good for those with slow CPU's. Hint: This level whoops butt. 3-Burn out 2: Created by Psyllo '96. For those who consider the phoenix one of the "cheap" weapons, try this level. Skill with the phoenix is crucial. Original sleek design. Great fast pace 1 on 1 level.... Basic with a twist. Also has blackened textures for good visibility. Hint: No one will ever beat Psyllo here. (Except MORG because he rules) 4-Beast: Created by MORG '97. Great workmanship. From looking you would think the framerate would be slow, but when you play it, it's surprisingly smoothe! A good example of how to make a *good* looking level, and keep the framerate up. Hint: no hints revealed for this one. 5-Manganite 2: Created by Psyllo '96. A very well rounded level. Notice that many textures are completely darkened. This is done for better visability. Along with the bright cube light, the contrast of player ships to the textures makes it easy to spot the enemy. Psyllo uses this technique in all of the levels in this set, because Psyllo......... is a cool guy. :p Hint: in order to access the reactor, you must perform a guided trick. 6-Z Paranha 1.0: Created by MORG '97. Excellent level. This level is the last of the bunch, ONLY because it is the biggest, but, its hardly big at all. You'll have to play it to understand, it's too broad based to go into detail. Very fun very well designed. Hint: Paranha like red meat. MUHAHA!
