Zeta VERSION 1.1 A Descent 3 Multiplayer Level by Solrazor E-mail: solrazor@hotmail.com Originally Released: May 20th, 2000 Version 1.1: May 21st, 2000 ----- DESCRIPTION: A level styled after Insomniac and The Core, Zeta is a Descent 3 multiplayer designed for 4 - 6 player anarchy or team anarchy. ----- WHY VERSION 1.1? The original Zeta 1.0 had a few bugs in it, one VERY serious. It is highly recommended that you replace that version with this one. The serious bug was that one of the player starts situated the player halfway inside and halfway outside the level. As a result, it was possible that a player could fire through the walls into the level. Definitely not a good thing. A couple other things - another start placement and an item placement - were fixed. I also added a second Vauss Cannon and the Smart Missile, both on the lower main room of the level. The Smart Missile should prove to be the wildcard weapon of the level. There should be ample room for the skilled to dodge it if it doesn't catch you off-guard. ----- AUTHOR RANT: Well, here it is. My first Descent 3 level released to the public. After the failed Metis Project and Descent 3: Desperation, which is now in some sort of limbo, this is the end product of my experience with D3Edit thus far. If enjoyed, I'll probably go off and design more Descent 3 levels. I'm actually quite happy with how Zeta turned out, being only the second level I saw through from beginning to end. This would not have been possible, though, without Nick (Hawkeye3). After Zeta sat on the back burner for a good month whilst the scripts were supposed to be compiled into Linux and Macintosh compatible forms, I lost a lot of interest in Zeta. Nick got after me about it and eventually, I saw that he was right. Thanks for the support. ----- KUDOS GO OUT TO: Nick (For Scripting and the Pep Talks) SirWinner (For Beta Testing) Skyrat (For Beta Testing) Solidair (For Technical Assistance) Gwar (For Creating D3Edit) Kevin Bentley (For Continuing to Support D3Edit) Otherone (For the Awesome "Unofficial" D3Edit Versions) Everyone on the DescentBB and the D3Edit Forums for keeping the development community alive. ----- Number of times D3Edit crashed during the development of Zeta: 1 ----- OTHER MISSIONS BY SOLRAZOR: http://www.descent-network.com/solrazor/ Project: Mandrill (Descent 2) The Phobos Encounter (Descent 2) Chasm (Descent 2) Nekhbet (Freespace 2) Marathon (Freespace) A Way Out (Freespace) Conflict at Taranova (Freespace) ----- Peace. - Solrazor http://www.descent-network.com/solrazor/
