NAME: Variance AUTHOR: Wesley "Arsentia" Fok GAME: Descent 3 STARTED: July 19, 1999 FINISHED: August 7, 1999 EDITORS USED: D3Edit v0.9 SUPPORTS: Anarchy, Team, Hoard, Hyper-Anarchy, CTF --------------------------------------------------------------------- COMMENTS: First it was going to be one level. Then the new D3Edit got delayed, and I got a second level done. Variance is the result - a two level anarchy set that'll do Hoard or CTF in a pinch. Tempest is a port of my D2 level Tempest Of Skara Brae. I've revamped the architecture extensively as well as adding an extra energy center and removing the reactor room (since there's no such thing anymore :). The reactor room and exit have been replace with hoard goals. Marauder, meanwhile, is an original design. This one is more of a tunnel rat's delight than any other level I've made thus far, and yet is still pretty decent for a good dogfight. The CTF understructure of this level shows quite well - unfortunate that the flag placement is a little suspect due to CTF programming quirks. I hope you'll ignore them. :) Special thanks to Nirvana for advice long ago and "beta testing", as well as Horizon, Nathe, SolidAir, Tetrad, FiendAngel and Kruel. Also the rest of the #300baud crew and the D3Edit forums for various tips on using D3Edit and (perhaps most importantly) messages of "it'll be in the next version, be patient..." :) You can bet I'll be waiting.
