Level : The BearCaves v1.1 Author : Vertigo Mail : vertigo@boeye.telenet.be Editor : D3Edit v1.1 beta I started with this level about 2 months ago, after [D4E]Bear gave me a good idea for a level design. It has very cool rock structures and is quite cave-like, hence the name "The BearCaves" It took me a long time to get this level like it is now, but i think it has paid off :) The level is quite open and spacious, although there are some narrow tunnels in it. In the middle of the level there is a Core Union logo spinning behind some water. In the biggest room there is a waterfall where you can fly through. The napalm has been toned up to make it more deadly and usefull and the black shark has been toned down to balance it some more. Level Stats : - 3762 faces - 23 rooms - 2 energy centers - 1 very cool music track, taken from the PSX D1 music score Other things to know : - The napalm cannon has been toned up, to make it usefull again. Damage is higher, range is higher, but you start with 20 instead of 50 liters. - The Black Shark has been toned down so it doesn't overpower the game. It has been halved in speed, has a smoke trail and sparkles for improved visibility, and the suction radius was lowered from 140 waaaay down to 50. The result is that you actually have to place the shark quite near your opponent to get someone sucked in. While testing we found out that it wasn't dominating the level. I hope that this way the shark won't be banned 'coz it's "cheap". Some pilots even called it "wimpy", hehe :) - There is one issue with the level involving custom objects. If a server ends the level, it will display the error message that the custom object file is not found. This is due to a bug in D3, and can be worked around by putting the custom object file in the Descent 3 Directory. The file (culogo.oof) is included in the zip file. Lots of credit go to MaxT for helping me with the custom object and textures (rotating CU logo, rest of the level has standard D3 textures). Many thanks to the CU clan, _Haagen_Dazs_, MaxT, Biyr, and some other people i might have forgotten, for testing the level and giving me feedback. Have fun !!! ****UPDATE**** The last issue involving custom objects has been fixed. Also, a typo in the first autodownload link has been fixed. Gravity has been added to the level too (although i don't think that will affect gameplay.....)
