After a lot of testing and tweaking, we finally came up with a weapon that we feel is worthy to be called an Earthshaker. For those who are not familiar with this weapon... The Earthshaker works similar to a Smart Bomb on steroids...an overdose of steroids! A large missile is launched, which travels in a straight line until it strikes a surface. At this point, 5 high explosive missiles with homing abilities are released which instantly lock on to the nearest enemy target, gaining in speed as they go. Imagine 5 Mega missiles coming at you, except faster and deadlier! This level was specifically designed around the Earthshaker Missile, though it is suited well for other anarchy games as well. An Earthshaker game is like no other. The death and kill rates are usually much higher than a normal D3 game. Dodging these missiles is the key to survival, and with practice, you will be able to dodge them even in small areas. There are a lot of these missiles floating around in there, so stock up fast. Let us know so we can check it out! We only ask that you not change its characteristics so that we may preserve the weapons consistency throughout the Descent 3 community. Visit www.GameEdit.com for more Descent 3 levels, plus tools and tutorials that'll help you build your very own levels :) **************** Known issues: Due to limitations of D3 itself, or my unwillingness to wait 10 years to release this weapon... - Earthshaker icon appears on HUD, but HUD name says BlackShark. - They are not exactly the same as the Shakers in D2, mainly due to the different speeds of the various ships, online "lag" considerations, and the different characteristics of the D3 engine. We think we found a happy medium that made it fair and challenging for all ships. - As is true with other weapons, some "mystery" or "lag" deaths may occur during an internet game. - The Shaker powerup does not spin. - There are a lot of Shakers in the level! That's the idea! - The level doesn't shake very much. After hours of shaking and spinning around, I get dizzy, so I toned it down :) - The ship capacities are as follows... Pyro-GL 3 missiles (medium reload) Phoenix 2 missiles (slow reload) Magnum 5 missiles (fast reload) Black Pyro 2 missiles (medium reload) **************** Tech Crap This level contains the following stuff: 16 Player Start positions 1 Smart Missile 11 Earthshakers 2 Plasma 6 Afterburner Coolers 2 Frags 3 Super Lasers 2 Quad Lasers 1 Vauss 1 Homing Missile 1 Vauss Ammo Clip 1 Mega Missile 1 Impact Mortar Server Ops: To activate Earthshakers, the Black Shark MUST be allowed in the game. A weapon respawn time of 5 - 20 seconds is recommended. Some crashing MAY occur at ENDGAME..it is recommended that the level run continuously (this is as of final beta testing, steps have been taken to resolve this issue). **************** Legal Crap You have the right to remain silent. This level is not to be misused in any of the following ways - verbal abuse, spilling beer onto, copying and selling it for a whole bunch of money (unless I get some), sodomy, mutilation (do not fold or spindle), or other evil deeds.
