This level is from the ========================================================================== Descent: Levels of the World Name of Mission: Turncoat Description of Mission: You're to destroy the anti-gravity project at the Advanced Armaments Research Station. While resistance will be high, you can also expect to find many heavy weapons. To succeed, you may need to enlist the aid of some turncoat mechs. The anti-gravity sphere is heavily guarded so be careful. An Advanced Armaments Research Station has been uncovered on a newly discovered phantom moon orbiting Pluto. Research is being conducted into heavy weapons and, because of the cyclo-G construct, we suspect anti-gravity research as well. This station is known to be heavily guarded. We've recently had intelligence that mechs can sometimes be turned to help with a mission. Keep an eye out for potential turncoats, but be careful. If you experience difficulties at the Station, consult your log to see if you have received a classified briefing with further details. ============================================================== CLASSIFIED TURNCOAT BRIEFING ============================================================== Below are the hints. If you don't want any hints, don't go any further. * * * * * * * * * * * * * HINTS -------------------- Getting the Blue Key -------------------- The blue key is behind a "hidden" door located by the shaft through which you enter the cycloid. This door will be opened when you go through the bypass tunnel behind the hidden doors by the blue doors. ---------------------- Getting the Yellow Key ---------------------- You can't get the yellow key by yourself; you need the help of the "turncoat" Supervisor mech that is hiding in a room by the yellow key. To get the supervisor into the room with the yellow key, go down the hallway to the grate; upon sensing you, the supervisor will go through the door. Once it's out by the yellow key, you need to shoot the inner door open so it can get through to open the outer door for you. The mech will eventually open the outer door to let you in if you keep shooting the inner door open. -------------------- Beating the Big Boss -------------------- Finally, you get to use the heavy weapons on the Level 7 Big Boss--legally! To beat him, you first need to kill all the guys in the room so they don't deflect your big reds. To do this, save up as many smarts as possible before going through the red door. You might want to shoot them through the grill where all the weapons are. Once done, you can go destroy the big boss. It helps to have saved the cloaking orb from the invisible hulk you killed before going through the red door (course, you'll have to kill yourself to use the orb). Use that orb and the one in the "sphere" and have fun! -------------- That's Not All -------------- There are other hidden goodies, etc., so keep looking.
