Descent Custom Level Mission: InteRace Type: Anarchy (Racing) Keys: None Creation Time: 15 Hours Date Finished: 11/11/95 Designer: Luke Schneider (last@uci.edu) Editor: Devil 1.02 One Line Description: Integrated racing level using switched doors. See QUADRACE.ZIP for complete rules. Instructions: I'm not going to go over the whole thing as I did with Quad Racer. Get that to understand the basic concepts and rules. It will explain just about everything except for what I will now mention. The main difference between this and Quad Racer is the ability to shoot other people while they're racing. This makes for a much more chaotic race with weapons coming into play a bit more. There are six laps in this race. The first lap is the left door of the six in the chutes. The laps go left to right so that the last lap is the door furthest to the right. The exit door is at the end of the long hallway where the lights extend past the open area. It's not lighted like in Quad Racer, but it opens after the last lap just like before. Also you can shoot the exit doors open from behind, so if you race pairs where you're teamed with someone you can let them leave their track early. Once again only four racers are allowed. I was going to make it eight, but I ended up making the track too big and there are too many doors already. There are two penalty pits unlike one before, but the concept is the same. If you end up in one you better kill yourself to leave. If you want to race without them choose Co-Op instead of Anarchy. Oh, if I didn't mention it before, go against the arrows. Designers note: I originally designed this level a LONG TIME AGO, but I held back on releasing it on the net because Rob Berzins at Interplay told me he was organizing a Level Contest for November. Obviously that never materialized and I never did release the level. Then Descent Anniversary Level Contest comes around and I entered this level in the contest (along with 5 other levels). Anyway I don't know what the hell happened but someone said Interplay had a hard drive crash and lost quite a few levels. Well I guess they recovered three of my six, but this wasn't one of them, so now I'm releasing it more than HALF A YEAR after I finished it. Never listening to anyone except myself from now on when it comes to releasing levels. Anyway, enjoy!
