______________________ ¦¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¦ ¦ The Moons ¦ ¦ of Uranus ¦ ¦ version 2.0 ¦ ¦______________________¦ ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ The first version of Uranus had these errors: * Level Oberon was not flag/hoard enabled This version had corrected that problem. This is a Seven Level Descent II Anarchy set. It is called the "Moons of Uranus." Seven moons of Uranus provided the level names. They are set out in this order: 1. Miranda 2. Cressida 3. Puck 4. Oberon 5. Ophelia 6. Cordelia 7. Umbriel The original text files of each level has been appended to this text. The only two levels that were never released as D2 conversions were Oberon and Ophelia. Their original D1 level texts were used. The last section has some legal statements. That is all, enjoy the level set, and lob me some comments ¶=¢þ «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» @-$-#|~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|#-$-@ @-&-#=%&| Miranda 2.0 |&%=#-&-@ @-$-#| |#-$-@ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You Still have the right to play Descent. You Still have the right to die in the mines. Anything you launch can and will be fired against you in a game of Descent. Yes, this level should be familiar looking... I have taken Spaz's most popular level "Minerva" as a model for this one. However, Miranda is much larger and more complex. Although the weapon alotments are nearly identical to Minerva. I hope people like this style of level, it affords more dogfighting and hide-n-seek play. Miranda is the first in the "Satellites of Uranus" Series of Anarchy and Cooperative Levels. Soon to follow will be other levels named after one of these moons. There are no tricks, no shield boosting areas, and no secret walls in Miranda... this is strictly a fight-like-a-man kind of level. Future "Satellites of Uranus" levels will not be quite so lofty.... This is the Descent II version of Miranda... made to be playable for all skill levels. The First "Miranda" was a smash success being voted as 4th most Popular Anarchy Level of 1998. In this level, you are fighting for your life in the PTMC abandoned supply depot, Cressida Base. Dangerous nuclear wastes, unstable fuel crates, and other scary things were left behind in the hastily executed evacuation. You were sent in to clean up what was left and deactivate the rogue Reactor. Unfortunetly, Rebel Mercenaries also heard of the abandoned goods, and so came with looting on their minds. First, deal with the Rogues, and then blow the reactor. You may find that there is a hidden basement with a stash of weapons under the crates, use these to aid you in your quest to cleanse the abandoned suply depot. You will need to activate two triggers to get into the secured area. Good Luck, PTMC HQ out. The First "Miranda" was a smash success being voted as 4th most Popular Anarchy Level of 1998. The first three episodes of the Series are Miranda, Umbriel, and Cressida. Oberon is the King of this series, where you must follow the circuit board rules or suffer the consequences! This level brings a new element in the game: Shield Regeneration Triggers out in the open! However, traveler beware! Flying against the arrows will cost you dearly! Have fun in this mega level, and look out for the hidden cloak! The First "Miranda" was a smash success being voted as 4th most Popular Anarchy Level of 1998. Ophelia is a 4 Dimensional Level. In this level, you can fight in one of four Parallel Universal Rooms, each with different tactics and a different style of play. The 4th Dimension comes into play when you fly thru a Telecube portal, those funny glowing purple boxes hanging in midair, but dont be fooled, those boxes dont actually exist, you cannot ever be inside them! Also, there are two Hyperspace Wormholes that connect Opposing parallel realities. Hyperspace is very disorienting, and can be used to spy on the different dimenional manifestations of the level. However, you are more likely to find Hyperspace to be an unyielding and confusing place, and communication within Hyperspace is nearly impossible. There is one more thing I must mention about this level, it seems that bringing 4 Parallel Universal Manifestations of one reality in such close proximity has resulted in an unstable Space-Time Matrix. Apparently there is a quantum fluxuation in Ophelia that makes your location on any dimensional plane subject to the random Heisenburg uncertainty principle, I have experienced a Quantum Shift or Leap from one Dimension to another WITHOUT traveling thru the Telecubes or Hyperspace! Just to forewarn you and hopefully this news will not result in panic. All in all, I hope you enjoy Ophelia, PS. There is a hidden Fusion Cannon and a single Mega Missile in the reactor, Good Luck getting it out without harm! Announcing a NEW TYPE OF LEVEL I JUST INVENTED!!! Here comes a new level class... BOUNCER! The secret to this level's success is the primary texture of all walls: FORCE FIELDS! And all secondary textures are normal looking ones to make level blue. BUT BEWARE!!! you will find this level euthenasia friendly if your not careful. You must pilot your ship well, or bounce to death. You can use this quality of this level to your advantage, a good strategy? Find an energy center, and then flood the level with laser fire! Be careful if you use phoenix, because what comes around goes around! The only trick to the level is exiting after the reactor is blown up. Shoot the trigger that is just outside the exit, and the force field blocking your escape will drop. THAT'S ALL FOLKS! ENJOY THE NEWEST TYPE OF LEVEL INVENTED BY LOBBER! How good are YOU with a guided?" Umbriel, another "Moon of Uranus" level in the series. The First "Miranda" was a smash success being voted as 4th most Popular Anarchy Level of 1998. Umbriel was small, but this version has been greatly expanded to become the largest level i have made. It was originally designed for ladder matches and 1 on 1 play, but now it is the premier puzzle level of the year. The First version of Umbriel was designed for JediLuke... but he didnt like it, too small. He won't like this version either, too intellectual ;) Level Title: Umbriel 2.1 Type of game: Anarchy, Puzzle, NEW: Bouncer Weapons Included: Everything Items Omitted: Nothing Time to Create: 3, maybe 4 hours max Time to revise: 50+ hours Date Created: July 17, 1998 Date Updated: October 17, 1998 Program files: Umbrel21.hog Umbrel21.mn2 Umbrel21.txt Author Eric B. Okay, you wanna know the solution to the puzzles? All of the items are available in this level. The Invulnerability is the ultimate goal. There are no less than 7 puzzles to reach it. And in the process of reaching that goal, many other items, weapons and various devices can be obtained. Here are the 7 steps to obtain the Invulnerability: 1. (Skill Puzzle) First, obtain the guided missile pack from the compartment that the ladder leads down into. Then find the ventilation shaft that leads into the large octagonal circuit breaker room. Shoot a guided thru the fan and hit the key panel on the roof next to the door... this will require circling the room with the guided. 2. (Mind Puzzle) With the door now unlocked, go back to the compartment that the ladder leads down into, and enter the vertical shaft that leads down to the now unlocked door to the Circuit Breaker room. Shoot the trigger to the SHAFT 133, and the REPAIR ICON. 3. (Door Puzzle) Now go down the only remaining compartment that is unlocked. You should see two air ventilation doors, both of which where locked before, but now the SHAFT 133 door is unlocked. Go thru it and then left, and left again. Fly thru the door that just opened and then left thru the next door that just opened. DO NOT LINGER in the "Chinese Box." If all doors close on you inside the box, you will be trapped, and only a very resourceful person can find there way out of the "Chinese Box." Next step is to go back up and to the fourth compartment that was previousely locked. Open the door from the outside but do not enter the compartment, until you open the inner door. The inner door relocks when you enter the compartment. Once you are down, the other door of the chinese box opens, go thru it quickly before it closes, then RIGHT. 4. (Mind Puzzle) Now you should be in a ventilation shaft just outside of a Computer Console room. The trick is to get in without shooting the wrong key panel that will lock a door preventing you access to the Invulnerability. Shoot the key panel next to the door. Then leave the shaft the way you came, and go back down the ladder compartment. You can now open the HUMANS ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT door. 5. (Mind Puzzle) Here, you have to be careful not to shoot any triggers on the console. There is a key panel you should shoot under the sign SUBLEVEL 81-3. Don't leave the computer room just yet, there is yet one more thing to do here: find the secret compartment beneath the access ramp... and get the headlight there, you will need it later. 6. (Storage Room Puzzle) The storage room is a crossbreed of mind puzzle and door puzzle. Find it in the ventilation shaft beyond the point that is marked MECHS ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT. Remember the key panel you shot in the Circuit breaker room that was marked REPAIR? Now you will find the door of the storage room marked with the same symbol is already unlocked. Once inside, shoot all of the boxes and obtain all the items you can. Some boxes require tricks to get into... figure them out. Once you have obtained 20 guided missiles, you are ready for the final skill puzzle. 7. (Skill puzzle) The Weapons Testing Area. Here you will find a curving shaft that you can shoot into but not fly into. Fire a guided down the shaft. Follow it around until you hit the wall. The target area is dark, so use your headlight to illuminate it... find out the best way to do that. (Hint: behind the locked door) You need to hit two key panels if you can make it thru the light shaft and past the sliding barrier, which adds an element of chance to this final puzzle. Shoot the bottom key panel out to unlock the second door, and then shoot the more difficult top key panel to temporarily open the first door, that you are shining your light on. Hurry! fly thru it before it closes, and open the second door. This is the only puzzle where you only get one chance at it. If you screw it up, then the invulnerability is permamently sealed up from any access. If you shoot the triggers in the wrong order, you screwed up. Now that you have accessed the Invulnerability, you will find that the sliding barrier and the invisible barrier are both temporarily down. This is to allow access to these areas in case a flag appears there. Note: when you fly back toward the shot out key panels, you reactivate the sliding barrier, and the invisible barrier... very useful for trapping anyone that may be following you... to drop these barriers, go back up to where the invulnerability was. If you leave thru the two security doors before you open the two barriers, they will be permamently in place. Unless someone trapped between them shoots the doors open for you. There is one independant puzzle that involves a force field room and part of the storage room. Hint: Do not rush in where angels fear to tread. Any questions? «»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«»«» Legal statement: YOU ARE HEREBY GRANTED PERMISION TO USE AND PLAY THIS LEVEL FOR YOUR OWN ENTERTAINMENT.
