level name: Sewer Rats author: Dietfrid Mali e-mail: dietfrid.mali@ptv.de type: normal, anarchy, robo anarchy, flag, hoard editor: DMB2 date: 05 aug 97 version: 1.0 changes: None so far. Description =========== I built Sewer Rats after having a vision of dimly lit, twisted tunnels with lots of interconnections - a level you would never quite know where you actually were. First I thought of it as a colon, but later on the resemblance to a sewerage became more and more obvious, so that's how this level came to its name. It consists of a large, interconnected tunnel system built around four entrances to my pseudo sphere (the other two doors lead to the reactor and the exit). The level's only energy center is found in the sphere. The two goals are contained in two of Sewer Rats numerous tunnels. In the sphere, you will find enough room for dog fighting, and in the sewerage you can hunt down or trap your enemies (they will probably try to do the same to you). Try to fly through the grates in the tunnel walls as well. Weapons ======= Since you can prohibit any power up from multi player games, I added lots of (almost) everything to the level. Since I think that some weapons are rather boring, you will NOT find every weapon in this level. (Just my opinion. But who would want concussion missiles if he can have mercuries - at least not me. ;-)) I recommend to play this level without Gauss Cannons since this will force you to return to the central sphere from time to time to recharge your ship's energy banks. If you want to use Gauss Cannons, they will however be available to you. Known Problems ============== Sometimes, some walls might not be displayed at certain angles of view. This is particularly ugly with the fuel sphere and also happens with the grated corridors at The Box's ceiling. I tried everything to fix the fuel sphere, but to no avail. You can't shoot or fly through such textures though. Probably this is a problem of Descent's graphics engine (too many optimizations). I think one can live with that. You will hardly notice most of these effects when in play anyway. So far. The following section is because this level is for everybody's fun and not for somebody to make money with my work. Don't take it personal.
