D'OHme (v1.0) By Otherone (aka Brian Wilcox) otherone@uswest.net ------------------------------- This is a training level used to practice dodging the various types of homing weapons (except for guideds) that exist in D3. The level supports both single and multiplayer modes (including regular anarchy). The main part of the level consists of a large room with a bunch of missile batteries. Each battery is independently controlled by an attached switch, and there are also switches to turn all batteries off and on. There is also a random-fire mode that will activate the missile batteries in a random order. Note that when random fire mode is active, none of the other switches in the main room will function until it is turned back off. This level will work not only in single player and robo-anarchy modes but also in regular anarchy mode. However, in all multiplayer modes the turrets will not track on players that are too far away (too far is roughly halfway accross the main room). Due to this apparent limitation of the game random mode doesn't work so well in multiplayer. Spud guns and lots of ammo are provided to make it easier to flip switches from a distance. ------------------------------------ When you first play the mission you will be started in a small level. This level exists to enable the Phoenix and Magnum in subsequent levels and can be skipped (by starting on level 2 when prompted) after the first time it is played w/ a particular pilot. The level will simply end a couple seconds after it starts. When starting a multiplayer game, the mission should be started on level 2 since there is no need for the ship-enabler level in multiplayer. If the main level is cycled, it will always cycle back to level 2. ------------------------------------ Source code for the level script is included in the .mn3 file in the form of the .cpp produced by DALLAS. Thanks go to Wavetrades for the original idea for a homing missile training level.
