THANX! PLEASE INCLUDE THIS TEXT FILE WHEN DISTRIBUTING THIS MISSION as well. Was it YOUR idea? Smart: yep Mega: yep Shakes: yep Prox's: yep Sm Mines:yep Extras Cloaking Invul Okay, now, you tell me, is it really too much trouble to turn off which weapons you DON'T prefer? Well ain't that a shame...have you ever wanted a Mega in MINERVA? Wha? You mean they made a verson with 'em in there? My point, I just decided to skip all the future versions (temporarily) by adding everything. You wanna' dogfight? Set it up that way...you won't be sorry. /=========================\ | Modes of Play Available | \=========================/ Anarchy/TEAM Anarchy: Why?...just kiddin'! YES! HOARD/FLAG: Yes, the goals have been placed strategically (no last minute placement). Co-op: NO. This level was never intended to be Co-op...the structure should hint at that. Single Player: Yes. Actually, this should be called "Target Practice" as I have placed some Steroid Botz in different areas. Don't feel inadequate if you just HAVE to type the code ALMIGHTY in during the single player mode! /============================\ | Mission Intent and Purpose | \============================/ I had a dream of wonderful splatters and screams. This level was lovingly conceived for the preferences of just about any gamer's taste. A dogfighter can set it up to get his jollies off just as well as if a shaker-lover wanted the mine to have everything. In fact, leaving off the Shakers, in my opinion, increases this level's attractiveness. Why? Because if you leave the shakers in you'll be asking for PURE STOMP whereas a shakerless set-up allows for some threshold of escape. : ) The mine is basically a 2-tiered GOAL ROOM surrounded by a coiling oval-shaped conduit. The conduit wraps around the GOAL room at 90-degree turns, increasing altitude after each turn, and allows you to enter the GOAL room from any level. Any level except the reactor level, that is. What? Did you honestly think I'd let you just blow the reactor and escape? NOT! ;¬þ There are two ways to go around an entrance to the conduit; both lead back to the GOAL room entrance. So, it is feasable (it's been done already) to cut someone off who departs down a conduit by taking a short cut through the GOAL room. Additionally, I've tested the mine for LAG potential...lag does not seem to hamper play drastically...pile on the players...as this mine uses only 200 cubes with under 50kb. Also, the textures employed are simple and the cubes have been built by obeying the most proven guidelines for large corridor construction to prevent lag. Look for an energy center hidden in the floor at identical locations under the rising part of each oval conduit (that's all I'll give away 'bout that). Although there are illusionary walls, I've made sure that field-of-view has been limited so that camping is not the standard. In fact, it'd be quite dangerous to camp in the areas above mentioned. The reactor area is behind a locked door...look through the door and you will see the control panel to pop for access to the reactor. The reactor area holds the only recharge center that isn't intentionally hidden...but it'll burn ya' if you're not careful. All other recharge areas (3) are burried in the floor just as you exit the GOAL room from any exit. They are set up DARK HALL style to some extent. By the way...one of the recharge areas holds the hidden exit to the mine. I can't give you any hints other than it's not the top recharge area...and it's not the bottom one either. I went through some painstaking testing to make sure there were no flaws in this level...there were. HOWEVER, Only one actual anomole could be found that couldn't be removed and that one is negligable (like the texture anomole in one of the Gigadeth rooms, you know!). I simply darkened that area (which I was gonna do anyway) and viola'! No one has noticed the anomole since. Basically, they were havin' too much fun bashin' each other. I've tested the mine with up to seven people at once and it performed beautifully. That's it! Stop reading and START STOMPING! : ) /=======================\ | Final hint of the day | \=======================/ Alwayz travel UP the oval-shaped conduit. If someone behind you fires a shaker, you'll have 3 escape headings to choose from as opposed to 1 if you were travelling DOWN the conduit. I found out the hard way...let others find out too, you just got a learning curve by deciding to read further. =========================================== This mine was ultimately developed for my brothers and sisters within the ranks of the Descent Elders. EVERYONE is welcome to use, edit, modify, WHATEVER this mission as long as you include this ORIGINAL text file for history's sake. May you have many targets to choose from in PURE STOMP!
