Minerva666 ---------- Descent2 level. artwork by Rob Dunlop (Picasso) unc-bob@dircon.co.uk Original level Minerva2 by Spaz Thanks to Spaz, R2D2, Sikahema and Toby for feedback. If you ever thought Descent2 needed more blood and guts then this level is for you. This is a dark, demonic adaption of Minerva2 using an entirely new set of textures. Even if you can't stand the original level the artwork has to be seen. I've included animated textures (for the fire, Minerva666 logo and the gremlin), as well as 2 new doors (a guillotine and monster opening its mouth). I spent some time on the lighting and have tried to create a contrast between the well lit central dogfighting room and the creepy tunnels. The underground tunnel is now HELL. There's other stuff too. Hope you like it. You WILL NEED version 1.2 of Descent2, because of the homemade textures. Then just put these files in your /descent2/missions directory. I must also add that many of you will see glitches in the animations. I have been tearing my hair out trying to get round the limitations of DMB2 (a fundementally brilliant tool), but it seems there is no easy way to totally avoid problems when creating animations. I hope someone sorts this out. You may see one frame being animated incorrectly, especially at the beginning of a game. Worst effect is when the flames flash a red box up intermittently. Thankfully, if this happens it normally wears off in about a minute. I think it's worth the odd glitch to keep the animations in. Maybe I'll make a Minerva667 if this bug is ever addressed:) All the artwork in Minerva666 is copyright Rob Dunlop 1997. Feel free to distribute it any way you choose, except in one of those naff level collections, or anything where you're charging people money (at least ask me first). If you wish to use any of my textures in your own level or homepage then that would be cool. I'd appreciate a mention somewhere though:) Thanks for reading this. Happy hunting Rob
