----------------------------------------------- Centroid Military Base A Descent 3 Single Player Level by Solrazor E-mail: solrazor@home.com Web: http://www.descent-3.com/solrazor Release Date: June 15th, 2001 Version: 1.0 ----------------------------------------------- ------- SUMMARY ------- Centroid is my fourth level for Descent 3 and my first single player offering. It is actually a port, from scratch, of the second level in my Project: Mandrill series from Descent 2. As such, I have tried to retain that classic Descent feeling. Centroid will not take you hours to beat, and there aren't any puzzles that will strain your mind too heavily. No - this level is all about going in and blasting some robots into scrap metal. ----- STORY ----- A few hours ago, the robots at the Centroid Military Base succumbed to a dangerous computer virus. It is up to the Material Defender to infiltrate this PTMC facility and destroy the Reactor, thereby creating an explosion that should destroy the base and all traces of infection. Prepare for Descent. ---------- OBJECTIVES ---------- Purge the Military Base - Deactivate the Ring Forcefield - Destroy the Keymech - Locate the Blue Access Key - Locate the Yellow Access Key - Deactivate the Twin Forcefields - Locate the Red Access Key - Destroy the Reactor - Escape the Mine Rescue the Survivors ---------------- LEVEL STATISTICS ---------------- 46 rooms (1 external) 4167 faces 4959 vertices 59 portals 9 doors 102 polygon objects 1 energy center ------------------------ OTHER LEVELS BY SOLRAZOR ------------------------ You can find my other levels at my website: http://www.descent-3.com/solrazor ----- KUDOS ----- My humblest thanks go to Garner_1 and Nick (Hawkeye3) for teaching me the ins and outs of DALLAS scripting and introducing me to a slew of new D3Edit concepts. Couldn't have done it without them! Thanks also go to Pyro-Ace, Garner_1, and Nick for testing the level. Kudos to Gwar and OtherOne for D3Edit, and to Topher and Stinger for the creation of Briefs32. To Heiko, for remixing the original MIDI music from Project: Mandrill, and for Wolf On Air for helping to implement it. Peace, Solrazor
