Aquarius v2.0 ````````````` Author: Scott Richards (scottris) Email: scottris@rjscs.com ZIP URL: http://rjscs.com/scotty/d3/aquarius2.zip What's new in version 2 ``````````````````````` - Added Energy Centers: I finnaly gave in ;) and added 4 Energy Centers to the level. You will find them in the store rooms. - Fixed a lag-related "invisible ship" bug that sometimes occured around the Flag rooms. - Added Entropy support!! - Changed the behavior of several weapons. See "Weapons" below for more information. - Made a number of small texture changes. - Removed the Omega. - Added ambient sound Play modes: ``````````` Designed for 2 team CTF and Entropy. Also supports Anarchy, Team Anarchy, Hoard, and Hyper-Anarchy. Basics: ``````` A medium size CTF/Entropy level designed for 4 to 12 players. There should be something for everyone in this level, there are open spaces for dogfighting, tight tunnels for ratting, and dark corners for camping. Weapons: ```````` All primary and secondary weapons are included, with the exception of the Omega and the Black Shark. There is one Gunboy in the level. No other counter measures are present. WARNING! The behavior of the EMD, Fusion, Napalm, Homing Missle, and Mass Driver have been modified as follows: - The EMD bounces off walls, but only once. After the first bounce, it will die on the next wall it strikes. Also, the damage caused by the EMD has been increased slightly. - The Fusion now has a recoil force, as it did in D1. - The Napalms range has been extended slightly, and the damage it causes has been slightly increased. - Homing missles have cameras, just like Mega Missles. - The Mass Driver comes with 6 rounds, and the Mass Driver Ammo gives an additional 3 rounds per. Other Powerups: ``````````````` Several Afterburner coolers are included, along with a few Energy Converters. Shield Orbs and Energy Stars are also present. There is also one Cloak in the level, so watch out! Strategy Tips: `````````````` - Guided Missles can be a lot of fun, but you'll need a good place to hide. Fortunately, there are plenty of those in this level! For CTF games: - Even though there are 3 seperate entrances to each base, it IS possible to watch them all from within the base, with a single ship! The key things to remember here are: There are 3 entrances to each base; You can use 2 camera markers at a time; And lastly there are several windows in each base. Use them all wisely. - Since there are no weapon powerups in or near the Flag Rooms, I recommend using 2 or more ships working in "shifts" to defend the base. One ship guards the flag while the second stocks up on weapons in the Store Rooms. Be sure to load up fast and get back before your team mate runs out of ammo! Note to Server Ops: ``````````````````` I recommend running this level with Bright Ships OFF and HUD Names set to TEAM or NONE. Thanks: ``````` Well, first I guess I'd like to thank Gwar and Otherone (and everyone else that I don't know about who was involved in making/updating/tweaking D3Edit) for a great editor without which I could not have made this level. Thanks to GameEdit and PlanetDescent for the autodownload mirrors. Thanks to everyone on the DBB for their comments and suggestions, and especially for helping my find a good name for the level. And lastly, special thanks to substrate for suggesting the name which, after much deliberation, I finnaly decided to go with. That name of course is... "Aquarius". ---------------------------------------------------------------- Please send any questions or comments to: scottris@rjscs.com ---------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright (c) 2001 Scott Richards Please do not modify this level, or reuse any part of it without written permission from the author. etc, etc. You may distribute this level, provided you include both the original MN3 and TXT files.
