Name: Lava Levels (in order of playing) Volcano End of the World Lava Tubes Raceway Arena Town Kill Author : Benjamin Burnes (a.k.a. Hydra) E-Mail address: darkhydra@prodigy.net Discription: * Volcano * I have become obsessed with volcanos. This one built perfectly and is my best level yet. It took me a long time to make the bottom-most room as you will see. I really love this level because it is easy to learn and to play and the biggest weapon in it is a mega missle, but the rooms are to big for it to even get a lock, I bet. All this level consists of is the starting room (you all start kinda close to eachother because I want you to fly in the volcano and get the 'full experiance' of flying into it with someone shooting at your butt. Don't worry though, there are 4 burners :-). The bottom room WILL GO SLOW because there are over 175 cubes down there (even though the volcano room where you start is bigger, it goes faster because it takes up only 50 cubes) but the room just LOOKS cool (I get about 11 fps on my 586-90 mHz computer). * The End of the World * DONT ASK ME WHY I NAMED IT THIS! This level is basicly 2 big rooms. A circle room which has a hole in the middle that leads down to an even larger square lava room. It is REALLY easy to learn because there airn't any complicated designs, just dogfighting to your heart's content. Again, there are no mega weapons, so there will be no easy kills in this. All in all, this level took up at 33 cubes which will make it go SUPER fast. Again, there are no mega weapons in my level. * Lava Tubes * I have planned on making this level for a long time. It is another "get anywhere fast" level that looks pretty cool. This one sould be a hit among them. * Raceway * This is a level I made a long time ago that I brought up from the grave. I had some good comments about it (except some things about the items and textures.) And I re-finished it so it is a little more even in weaponry. And since I HAD to add lava to it, I made the reactor room a little bit bigger and added some lava. I also changed the ground texture a little so that the ships are easier to see. This level is one of those great levels like minerva, that are just too fun to play because you kill so many people really quickly if there are 4 people in it. * Arena * This level is REALLY small. it will go very fast though. It basicly is one big room (the arena) with a ring going around it. It looks pretty cool and it didn't take very long to make. Like Lava Tubes, I planned this level out before I created it so I could build it quickly. * Town Kill * I had a cool idea and I played it out. This is *supposed* to be a small town-like thing. It is kinda cool with a few hiding spots and a underground thing. This level has SOME lava, not much though. ================================================================================================= Amount of levels: 6 Single player: Yes, but it owuldn't be that fun Anarchy: I love this game. =^) Robo-anarchy: Only if you think the other players are robots! Capture the flag: It sould work, I don't know how well, tell me about it after you play. Hoard: It sould work, I don't know how well, I personally think hoard kicks anarchy's ass any day. ================================================================================================= Build time: * Volcano * 10 hours, at least. It looks like 20 hours of work though. It rocks. * End of the world * About an hour, it is only 33 cubes (30 not counting the exit tunnel.) * Lava Tubes * About an hour, it looks like it took longer... * Raceway * About 2 hours, I re-did parts of the level and stuff. I changed some textures because people were complaning about how hard it was to see (and it was). I also added another passageway through part of the track, which makes it much better. * Arena * About and hour and a half, Im getting good at making these levels * Town Kill * Just a few hours, not much. Editor(s) used: Just DMB2. I recommend getting it if you are a level maker. It just rocks because it is so easy once you get the hang of it. Known Bugs: Only that you have to have version 1.2 of Descent to see the custom textures. Some textures seem to warp and distort while playing this bug cannot be fixed so just live with it. :) Notes: All comments (good & bad) will be appreaciated. Also, send me your E-Mail address so I can give you all upgrades of these and other levels by me! (My E-Mail is darkhydra@prodigy.net ) Note to Pyromaniac members: Your texture is in the first level only, but that is where everyone will see it, by the second level, everyone is to much into the battle to care about the textures (I think) so, your texture is only in the first level. If you want to yell at me about it, go right ahead. I check my E-Mail every day, I'll get back to ya. I put it on the last level because we got new members while building it. ================================================================================================= * Copyright / protection * READ THIS CARFULLY (it might confuse you) You may feel free to distribute this. Hydra P.S. although it seems fun to look at the level in DMB2 or Devil, it really takes the fun out of the game if you know where all the secrets are (I sould know ;-) P.P.S. Someone please spell check this text file and send it back to me. I'm not the perfect speller and I type fast (not a good combo)
