Author: WOLF E-mail: eifel1@worldnet.att.net Author info: I like to socialize with my wolf pack! :) Level name: Deep Kragg Gorge Type of Level: Single Player and Co-op ONLY, sorry no deathmatch! :( Description of Mission: Greetings Material Defender, this is Dravis speaking. I have come to you to inform you of your next mission which is of utmost importance. We want you to go to the Kragg Mine and search for the water gorge. The source of unlimited power for the mine. We want you to gather reconeissance information for our PTMC databases. Here is the rundown: We have lost all contact with the Kragg Mine and fear that the robots you have fought so many times in the past have taken over this mine as well. This is only a beta mine and has not been fully constructed, so if you path is blocked, look for an alternative route. Here is the rundown on the enemies you can expect to be finding in the mines. Logikill/Diamond Claw/Lou Guard/Green Helmet/Thief/Sniper NG P.E.S.T./P.I.G. Expect these robots and act accordingly when encountered. However, we have also recieved information that two of these robots gained new powers. The power to create energy blobs when shot at, P.I.G. and the Fox Attack Bot are these two, so execise extreme caution when around these two robots. We assume that this mine was also equipped with a Guide Bot in the interior, but we are not sure. Good Luck Material Defender and come back safely! Dravis out! Notes: If you are wondering, there are about 11 secrets within the level. You can distribute this level AS LONG AS this text file is included. Now about the framework: I started with a simple set of "rooms" I was quite happy with. The intro room, the hallways connecting the various color doors and the end "tail" of the level with that control panel deactivating the force fields. But before making the areas behind any of the color doors, I got tired and gave up for about 3 months or so. Then I studied other levels for complex level design and got some ideas from them. (No I didn't copy and paste, these are ALL new designs, just that they were inspired by these levels) Now I started with the blue door and made a double section room which is great for small dogfights and which you probably will with some Diamond Claws. :) I made the "shaft" and the "big loop" that lead to an area that I really didn't have any idea of what I was going to do with. So I just made three rooms and was done with it. Now it was behind the yellow door that I wanted the level to shine! That is why it's so damn huge! :) Again I made another "shaft" and some hallways that looked kinda cool. I (of course) blocked the Red Key and left just within your grasp! :) You had to go take the long route to get it. Then I kinda gave up again and started doing the area behind the red door. I really concentrated on making this pretty detailed. As you can see, that suspended bridge effect payed off! That last room with the reactor was hell making within the tight cramped space I set aside for the area of the red door. But it is pretty dramatic for the conclusion for this level. :) Then I got back to work on the yellow door area. I just made TWO not one pathways to the Red Key. Of course, one route was longer but easier, and the other route was shorter but harder. So it all evened out. Now I went overboard on the recharge areas, THREE! And not only that, I placed in 10 HOSTAGES!!!!! The most ever in a level! :D Well, if you die and kill all your hostages, at least you know there are a couple more to find in the level. Hint: There are 3 jail compounds in the level. Challenge: If anyone can reach 30,000 points in their score in my level at the end screen, take a pic of it and send it to me and I'll send you the locations of all the secret areas in the level. I know it isn't much of a prize, but I don't have much to give! :D WOLF ================================================ Software Use Limitations and Limited License ================================================ This special add-on level for Descent II (the "Software") is intended solely for your personal noncommercial home entertainment use.
