"Crescent" supports Anarchy, Team Anarchy, Capture the Flag and Hoard This is my first level for D3. The ideas for the tower room and the digging room are from Pazuzu aka Metatron, the rest are designed by me. This level was built with the old fashioned dark D1 and D2 athmosphere in mind. If the coronas bug you, just disable them in the Descent 3 detail options. You should get used to the layout quickly and it should play well with 4-6 players, although it could hold 8 people certainly. The level has wide areas and mid sized tunnels, thus lets enough room to dodge everywhere, but has several shortcuts and alternative paths for interception. I have put alot work into texture selection, aligning and lighting. The architecture is intended to make sense mostly, in a way. Some of the pipes don't have suspensions, which grants a better flow of the game, a good exchange for a logical flaw if you ask me. There are also some special effects, one which I don't want to tell in advance, you'll find out ;). The others are the steam from the pipe in the water tower, the dust rising from the half buried pheonix and some sound effects. But you better check it out yourself to get the whole picture anyway ;). The level is made for state-of-the-art systems, so it would be a rather weak attempt to run it on a "recommended system" of 300 MHz, lol. I already have a kinda old machine with my AMD 1400c and a GF3-TI200, but I still get well around 100 fps in most areas of the level (yeah red, lyao). Thanks to the programmers of D3edit, and these many people who've made the tutorials. Especially Schplurg for his infuckingcredible walkthrough, which is not only valueable but funny as well. DigiJo, Fischlein and Roadrunner (in order of appearance) for supporting me at debugging as a D3edit newbie, and giving tips&tricks on the editor which aren't documented anywhere I looked. VMA214 for his support with Dallas. Otherone for his incredible work on and the additions to the editor and supplying his custom script from BTC for the MD-ammo spew, so now there's a reward for the kill =). Hunter for the suggestion and conversion of the blue plasma into a red one. It looks cooler now =). NoCat was so amazed by the level, I just had to grant his wish to let him paint his logo on the wall :P. While I was at it, I also let my favourite clan to do so. teehee. For the sceptics of D3 levelbuilding beginners (as I was one long time): The D3 Editor doesn't look friendly at the first glance, but if you go step by step along with the tutorials, its really easy to handle. It's amazingly powerful for a practically free 3D-designing program as a bonus to D3. The online help gets you started, but you better visit and read the tutorials mentioned above at www.gameedit.com. German readers go to the translations at www.descent3fischlein.de.
