Third level ever created by author. 5/1/96 Level(s) Description : A replacement for the first level of Descent. It is composed of a unique blend of rooms, and strong game play. Excellent for Deathmatch, Co-op, Flag or Single player. This level is supposed to be an infested trading mine facility. This level is designed for MULTI PLAYER NET GAMES Batch file to start : None, this is set up as a Descent mission. Machine Requirement : Currently I have an Intel Pentium P6 Pro 200 mhz, with 128 meg of Parity ram on an Intel Aurora Mother Board and a Number Nine 128 Pro vidio card with 8 megs ram on board. This level should run well on any Pentium or better machine. I also use a Programable Thrustmaster F-16 FLCS Joystick with a F-16 TQS Programable Throttle and Rudder system. Monitor is an NEC MultiSync XP21. Hints : Use the FULL MAP to find hidden rooms and unlock other rooms with hidden switches. The Devil's Trap can be exited by one of three methods 1. It is possible to fly directly out. 2. Hit the switches on the wall to deactivate the force field 3. There is a third invisable switch outside the Trap that another play could trip or the robots could trip. This will also deactivate the force field 4. There are TWO exits ONE IS A DUMMY. 5. It is Possible to Kill the Reactor and Rescue The two hostages in the Reactor room. 6. There are Two Hidden Trap doors that DIRECTLY Connect the Three Levels. 7. It IS POSSIBLE to get the Earth Shaker Missiles. 8. The force field is ARMED every time some one enters the Devil's Trap. Level Faq : Devil's Trap: This Level was also Desiged useing AutoCad. The basic consept came from the idea of stacking three Chess or Checker type boards and then adding a few feature. This Level has a playable "Trap" The Trap can be defeated at first by shooting the switches on the wall. The Trap can also be defeated by slowly moving towards the exit of the trap (Towards the force field to the Left), then very slowly approach the force field, as you are just about to touch the force field move very slowly to the right, this will deactivate the force field and let you out. Theres is least one of every weapon and missile in this level (Most are Hidden). The reactor is protected by a door that is unlocked with a hidden switch. The hidden switch is protected by a locked door activated by another hidden switch. There is a fake exit and a real exit. The fake exit is at the bottom of the level. The real exit is at the top of the level.
