Internet Descent ][ Level Contest This contest was long in comming, it represents the effort of many, I like to think of it as by Descent'rs for Descent'rs. There are hundreds even thousands of levels for both versions but these levels are among the best availible on the Internet today! There are levels that when you slip into them you feel like you just might actually be there. Well my friends the contestants and winners of the IDLC will undoubtedly be the ULTIMATE levels in each of the 4 categories. So if you haven't taken your pyro into these mines then you haven't seen the best! This completed form MUST to be included with all entries. ******************************************************************************* ----ENTRY INFORMATION---- Level File Name...: CrualDD.zip Game Version......: D2 only Mission Name......: The Crual Deepdown Date Finished.....: 14/05/98 ----LEVEL DESCRIPTION---- I've used Descent Mission Builder 2, which is able to edit Robot behaviour. So there are lots of robots that don't shoot with their standard weapons. I've also modified their strength. The custom textures are self-made star patterns, which are quite simple to make, but give a great effect in the game. I've also added textures from a Garfield cartoon which I downloaded at http://www.garfield.com Since this was available for download and this mission has no commercial purpose, I suppose I'm allowed to use it. There is no custom midi or sound, and there are no polymodels added in the mission (exept those from Descent 1/2, of course) The mission has 2 levels + 1 secret level. I tried to do something different then go-from-one-to-another-level structure. So the first level is very small (supposed to be an orbital satellite) the second is very big, and to finish it you HAVE to go by the secret level. I made quite long briefings and I tried to make up a good story. Remember that this is a single-player mission, but I managed that in coop mode, the secret level hasn't to be played. This is the first level I've EVER built, but I think it's worth entering it in koolbear's contest. IMPORTANT NOTE: THE JUGES SHOULD PLAY THIS MISSION IN TRAINEE MODE! THE GAME IS (ALMOST) NOT PLAYABLE IN HOTSHOT, YOU'LL GET KILLED EACH 3 SECONDS :( PLEASE REMEMBER TO PLAY IN TRAINEE, OTHERWISE THIS SUBMIT WOULD HAVE BEEN USELESS! Date: 14/05/98 entered into the Internet Descent ][ Level Contest http://www.koolbear.com/IDLC/ ----PERSONAL INFORMATION---- Real Name.........: Pierre De Landsheere Pilot Name........: Tricord E-Mail............: tricord@planetinternet.be URL Address.......: N/A Misc. Info........: Please play in "trainee" mode, thanks for playing! ----LEGAL INFORMATION---- *NOTICE* Reconize any copyrighted material here.....: I used a Garfield cartoon in my custom textures, which I downloaded from http://www.garfield.com Since this was available for download and this mission has no commercial purpose, I suppose I'm allowed to use it. ================================================ Software Use Limitations and Limited License ================================================ This special add-on level for Descent (the "Software") is intended solely for your personal noncommercial home entertainment use.
